“I’ve found that the best portraits happen when the technology simply gets out of the way.”
Hi, my name is Jamie Gardner. I’m a software engineer and Machine Learning PhD student at Newcastle University. I spend my time obsessing over the physics of light, reverse-engineering studio setups, and studying body mechanics so that by the time you step in front of the lens, the shoot feels completely effortless.
The Studio Experience
My goal is for you to leave with a quiet mix of pride and humility – to see yourself in a genuinely different light and walk away with timeless images, not just fleeting content for a social feed.
• No Guesswork: I typically shoot tethered. We review the images together as we go, so you always know exactly how incredible you look.
• A Relaxed Vibe: I might stare a bit intensely just to check the catchlights from the modelling lamps, but those technical tweaks are usually when the tension breaks, we laugh, and your most authentic expressions come through.
• Fast Delivery: By the time you travel home, a secure folder with your initial samples is usually waiting for you online.
• Meticulous Quality: From the standard of the gear to the precision of post-production, every detail is engineered for high-end results—perfect for large-scale, room-defining prints.
My Focus & Background
I built my foundation in Northern Ireland shooting highly disciplined bodybuilders, which taught me the absolute fundamentals of anatomy and posing. Today, my focus is dedicated to:
• Technical Studio Fashion
• Beauty & Elegant Portraiture
• Character-Driven Headshots
Let's Collaborate
I partner with individuals and brands who value a considered, deliberate approach to their imagery. If you are looking to invest in a premium session – whether to elevate a commercial campaign, explore an editorial concept, or build a standout private portfolio – I would love to hear what you have in mind.
