I believe the acting profession has a motto- the show must go on. At our shoot on Friday Na exemplified this principle.
Despite being relatively new to Model Folio Na had kindly agreed to travel to Falmouth to shoot with me and we hoped to take advantage of the last of the Autumnal colours. Na was kindly bringing with her an outfit to use with the foliage in a graveyard, as well as a swimsuit (incurable optimism) and a shirt dress. However both of us were taken by surprise by the weather which until Na was actually on the train seemed to show signs of brightening. By the time she arrived it was true Cornish liquid sunshine- a proper deluge. A lesser human being might simply have turned around- Na was undaunted however and off we went, determined to test Pentax’s legendary waterproofing.
We improvised with a couple of alternative settings and even got down to a rocky shore where Na didn’t even flinch going into the water to paddle. Na has a good eye for backdrops and settings and was prepared to be uncomfortable where necessary to achieve our shots .
Na has a fascinating interest in historical play/screenplay which I look forward to hearing more of as her creativity finds expression.
A pity we couldn’t get pics with the swimsuit, but I guess we had to leave something for next time- a hearty recommendation from me
Mike was a lovely Gentleman from the moment he picked me up from the train station, throughout the entire shoot to the moment he dropped me back again. He was enthusiastic and happy to experiment with ideas. He knew what locations would work best. The dismal weather to begin with (totally not forecast) was not enough to deter him and he worked hard and put his all into the shoot. However we persevered and the sun did eventually come out. We achieved some wonderful stand out shots! Highly recommended!
